Note: This is a mattress that replaces the mattress on the BariMaxx II bed. In some cases, it replaces the need for the BariAir bed. Rental must be coordinated with the equipment room.
Indications:

Prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers

Large patients who are difficult to turn

Large patients using a static mattress that would benefit from a pressure relief surface

Patients whose body weight and size pose a significant risk or care management issue to the patient or staff during the performance of routine nursing care

Large patients weighing up to 1,000 lbs.
Contraindications:

Unstable cervical, thoracic and/or lumbar fracture
-
Cervical and skeletal traction
-
Total weight in excess of 1,000 lbs.
