Email, Calendaring, and Contact lists

HIT maintains a centralized email messaging service with the following features:

  • Standard mailbox offering with 1GB of storage,
  • Outlook Web Access (OWA) for mailbox access via the Web,
  • Robust Anti-Spam and Anti-Virus protection for all mailboxes,
  • Wireless messaging for mobile devices,
  • Additional and optional services include extended storage capabilities (Large Mailbox), and Secure Email/File Transfer Services.

Request Increase Email Mailbox Size

Each email account is granted 1GB of storage. If necessary, one can request an Increase in individual customer's email mailbox size beyond the default quota of 1GB. Before asking for an increase, one should first attempt to empty trash folders and older emails.

Distribution Lists

Distribution lists allow an email user to send notes to a group of individuals by selecting the list name in the Global Access List within Outlook.  New email distribution lists may be create and membership of existing list may be changed.

Shared/Resource Calendar

A Shared/Resource calendar allows a central place to store and access schedules. The schedules can be used for any shared room such as a conference room or training room or other workgroup resources.
