HIT supports configuration and installation of mobile devices, including smartphones and tablets.

Both iOS and Android operating systems are supported.   HIT supports a number of apps for connectivity to Health System IT, such as email, VPN, and Epic.  Service is provided for both personal and shared devices. HIT does not support wireless carriers and mobile device hardware --- please contact your service provider as needed for these issues.

In order to receive email or other UVa-provided applications on your mobile device, you will need to enroll your device with Health System Mobile Iron.   For instructions, see Mobile Device Setup Instructions.

The UVa Medical Center currently has contracts with Shentel/Sprint and Verizon.  

  • To order or replace a Shentel phone, go to http://myhit .  Once logged, in the search engine enter 'Mobile Phone Request From'.   Once you have completed and submitted the form, your device should arrive within 3 business days.  
  • To order or replace a Verizon phone, please contact your department administrator for assistance.  
  • If an employee who is assigned a UVa Medical Center phone departs the Medical Center, the manager or supervisor of that employee has two options regarding disposition of the phone:
