Change Browser Settings in Internet Explorer
If you are a web manager who often makes changes to your website, you'll want to change your settings to ensure you see the latest version of a web page or file. To change your setting in Internet Explorer:
- Click the gear/tools icon in the upper right corner of the browser
- It will open the settings dialog box and display the General Tab
- In the Browsing History Section, click on the Settings Button
- Change/Ensure the radio button for "Every Time I Visit the Webpage" is selected under the "Check for newer versions of stored pages".
- Click OK
Delete Temporary Internet Files
- Click the gear/tools icon in the upper right corner of the browser
- It will open the settings dialog box and display the General Tab
- In the Browsing History Section, click Delete...
- Ensure "temporary internet files and website files" is checked.
- Click Delete
Rename Short Name of File (pdf, doc, xls)
Another option would be to rename the short name. This short name appears in the web address. Please note: renaming the short name may break any links from other web pages.
- In Plone and logged in as a web editor, navigate to the file.
- In the green bar, click Actions -> Rename
- Edit the field - New Short Name
- Click Rename All
