HIT Provides support for connection to UVa HS systems including VPN, Outlook, Epic, F: and O: drives, and network printers.

Some customers require the use of Apple Mac products to run particular software. Macs are not funded centrally by the Medical Center, but departments are free to purchase them if needed.    Note that some HIT systems and software used in the Medical Center are not supported on a Mac, and other services may be limited when using a Mac.

For Macs owned by UVa (Medical Center, School of Medicine, or UPG), HIT offers the ability to connect to our HIT secure clinical network.   In order to do so, management software called Mobile Iron, must be installed.    To get started, go to our Health IT Apple & Android Information site.   Note that personally-owned Macs are NOT eligible for connection to the HIT secure clinical network.

For more information and details on Mac services offered by HIT, see Apple MacOS Support .
