Change management is a key element to sustaining the gains made through process improvement projects. Throughout the project, our team is always asking ourselves, "How do we effectively improve performance and sustain our goals?"

We use industry-based, academic-backed improvement methodologies to lead, coach, or facilitate change initiatives across a variety of healthcare delivery settings.

Key steps to support change management include:

  • Identifying and addressing the needs of every stakeholder to secure buy-in through root cause analysis and a stakeholder analysis
  • Measuring performance and aligning incentives to control complex environments
  • Following up on key performance measures at regular intervals and as requested by stakeholder

Examples of our work include:

  • Communication Plan: the communication plan lays out the strategy for keeping all key stakeholders engaged in the process and committed to improving the process
  • Pareto Analysis:  focusing the first phase of the project on the areas of greatest opportunity helps secure the buy-in of the key stakeholders

  • Gemba walks: process leaders routinely visit the sites pertinent to the project to observe processes in real time and to look for variances from the established standards
  • Monitoring Key Process Indicators (KPIs): graphical performance data allows process leaders to quickly identify variations from the standard
