HIT services offered to Heart Center customers and to support Heart Center technology.

Active Directory Management
Collaborate with the HIT LAN Team to define and manage Active Directory domain groups that control user access privileges to cardiovascular clinical applications and file shares.

Data Mining
Extract data, perform analyses, identify patterns, and derive knowledge from cardiovascular data sets to assess clinical outcomes, identify quality improvement opportunities, and support clinical research.

Desktop Support
Desktop Support Services provides support for Heart desktop systems, laptops, tablets, mobile devices, and end-users computing-related needs. Support includes installation, configuration, maintenance, trouble-shooting, and appropriate disposal of hardware and software components.

Heart Center Application Administration
Provide clinical application administration, configuration, operations, maintenance, technical support, and 3rd-party vendor collaboration for Heart PACS (Xcelera and Impax CV), implantable medical device management (Paceart), inventory management (QSight), nuclear medicine (Corridor 4DM), hemodynamic monitoring (Xper), hemodynamic reporting (PedCath), Holter and cardiac event monitoring (Medicomp), and software used for national data registry participation (ACC, AHA, STS, SVS, and MCS).
Provide clinical application administration, configuration, operations, maintenance, technical support, and 3rd-party vendor collaboration for the enterprise EKG (Tracemaster/iECG) and glycemic management (Glucommander) systems.

Heart Center Application Development
Design, develop, and implement custom database applications, using SQLserver (back end), MS Access (front end), and VBA programming, to support business and clinical operations.

Heart Center Application Integration
Collaborate with Enterprise Services and Epic analysts to integrate cardiovascular clinical applications with the enterprise EMR (EpicCare) including DICOM Modality Worklist, HL7 interfaces, and document management.

Heart Center Data Integration
Extract and integrate cardiovascular data from various internal and external sources to facilitate advanced data Analytics & Reporting.

Heart Center EMR
Collaborate with Epic analysts to define user roles and access privileges for EpicCare Cupid. Provide EpicCare Cupid end-user training. Develop and distribute EpicCare Cupid tip sheets.

Heart Center IT Security Assessment
Collaborate with IT Security to perform risk assessments to ensure that cardiovascular clinical applications meet Health System security standards.

Heart Center Medical Equipment
Collaborate with Clinical Engineering and Radiologic Physics to configure and support radiation dose monitoring and surveillance on x-ray angiography systems.
Collaborate with Clinical Engineering and 3rd-party vendors to support and maintain FDA 510(k) medical devices used to perform cardiovascular procedures; this includes hemodynamic monitoring, electrocardiogram recording, EP mapping, ultrasound, x-ray angiography, and other imaging equipment.

Heart Center Professional Services
Collaborate with clinical staff throughout the Heart and Vascular Center to identify, define, and assess specific business and clinical operations problems or improvement opportunities, perform analyses, and recommend solutions.

Help Desk
Heart IT On-Call Pager is the single point of contact for customers requesting cardiovascular-related IT services and support. As the Level One provider of IT support, the On-Call Engineer resolves or escalates requests appropriately and coordinates clinical application support with 3rd-party vendors.

Network Device nstallation
Collaborate with Enterprise Services and Network Operations to assign static IP addresses, activate network ports, define access control lists, and perform connectivity testing for FDA 510(k) medical devices used to perform cardiovascular procedures.

OSH Image Transfer
Facilitate secure, electronic imaging study transfer between outside hospitals and UVa Health System to support medical consults and patient transfers. Collaborate with Network Operations and IT Security to configure secure VPN tunnels between hospitals.
